課程概述

Russian I is a year-long course for beginners.

The main aim of the second semester is to make students comfortable with the basic grammar (cases, tenses, etc.), vocabulary, and conversation models applicable to the first day-to-day conversations.
Methods of instruction focus on developing functional competence in Russian listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Every topic is built around forming communicative skills, including phonetical training, new vocabulary, new grammar, listening, speaking, and writing exercises.

Language of instructions: ENG/RU 

課程目標
Students should achieve an A1 level in Russian at the end of the yearly course.

The course is focused on:
1) Phonetical training: alphabet, rules of reading, and basic writing;
2) Basic grammar knowledge:
-Nouns: Gender, Animated/Unanimated Nouns, Singular/Plural forms, Cases, and their usage in Singular form
-Pronouns: Forms and Meanings of various pronouns
-Adjectives: Collocations with Nouns
-Verbs: Infinitives, 1 and 2 Conjugations, Tenses, Imperatives, Perfective and Imperfective forms
-Numbers
-Basic question words
-Simple sentence structures

3) Communicative skills:
- Introduction, Greetings
- Telling about yourself (family and friends, place of living and studying, places and things you like or dislike)
- Telling about cities and countries
- Telling about daily activities
etc.  
課程要求
1) The course is open to all beginner students who want to study Russian from scratch.

2) Class Regulation Policy:
- Try to avoid missing classes. If you have a chance to miss the class / be late / leave early, please send a short notification to the Professor or TA by e-mail (russianclass.ntu@gmail.com);
- Complete and upload all the assignments on time;
- Participate actively in the class: join the conversation, interact with a professor and classmates, ask questions, etc. It could help you to build confidence in language usage.
- Ask questions: if you don't understand something, miss something, or feel so, please, ask the question. All questions are always welcome!

Each class required about 1 hour of home prep (it can vary depending on the topic and type of exercises).
